My nature journal paintings are not for sale but I wanted to share them with you! They represent how I expressed my creativity during Covid lockdown when my access to making ceramic art was limited. My journal is a collection of the birds, insects and butterflies I see while walking or hiking in different parts of the country. I am always looking and listening while walking hoping to discover a cool new bug or bird! I use watercolors, white acrylic ink, colored pencils and markers to make the paintings. I have a very long list of things I want to illustrate! A fun part of making this journal was researching the taxonomy of the subjects and discovering how they are related. Working on the journal helps me understand the world around me as well as providing inspiration for my ceramic work!
